Junior Viking Football
"Football is a fun game. Our primary goal at the middle school level is to show players just how fun it can be. They will be given the opportunity to meet new friends, maintain active lifestyles, and learn a great deal about football." – Bryan Koch
The Varsity Vikings see the Junior Vikings as part of the Football Family - they are the future. Coach Koch shares his Junior Viking Feeder Program philosophy HERE. Please read his Feeder Program Goals HERE.
An Introduction to the Official Junior Vikings Football Website
The Junior Vikings program is designed to develop age-appropriate skills needed to be competitive according to the Suburban South and Gateway Football League Rules and Regulations. Our coaches generally consist of parents who have experience and are willing to provide leadership, coaching and teaching skills for the benefit of the kids. The goal of the program is to encourage teamwork, good sportsmanship, and prepare all kids for participation at the high school level. The kids are strongly encouraged to give their best efforts both in practice and games.
Safety is a key priority. The Jr. Vikings are committed to providing a safe environment for practices and game situations. In 2007, new helmets (Riddell) were purchased for the entire program ensuring state-of-the-art safety features. Additionally, each year all equipment is inspected and maintained. In the event of any identified defects, equipment is replaced with new purchases.
The Junior Vikings were organized for the sole purpose of fostering young athletes and providing a competitive, yet safe environment for athletic development. The Jr. Vikings provide football training for children from Augusta, Cottleville, Dardenne Prairie, Defiance, Foristell, Harvester, Lake St. Louis, Matson, Marthasville, New Melle, O'Fallon, Saint Charles, Saint Peters, Schluersburg, Weldon Spring, Weldon Spring Heights and Wentzville
We play in two different leagues. The younger group plays in the Gateway Football League. The older group plays in the Suburban South Football League.
